Tech East was founded in 2003 with the specific mission of providing users the ability to quickly and easily find information technology, aerospace & defence, oil & gas and biotech news in eastern Canada. With many news sources continually releasing stories twenty-four hours a day, finding relevant news can often be a time consuming task. For complete coverage, users are forced to visit many different sites and sift through a variety of stories that may or may not be relevant to them. Tech-East.com alleviates this problem by creating topically driven, specific news web pages and populating each of those pages with only news about that particular topic. So, whether you are interested in finding all the news about your community, or your company or industry, Tech East provides an intuitive, easy way to find the targeted technology news that is relevant to you.

The site is constantly improving its services and has recently included site listings of the major regional technology industry groups on their relevant pages, and added a new category concerning Atlantic Innovation on its own page.

Each month, TechEast.ca delivers thousands of page views and thousands ad impressions to more than 280,000 visitors. Tech East articles and news feeds are also syndicated to other publications and news outlets worldwide.

Who's behind Tech East

The site was originally founded by Robert Snell in 2003 to fill a void in Atlantic Canada. Robert is a serial entrepreneur and avid promoter of technology and the industry in Atlantic Canada. Robert has been in the technology industry for quite some time and has worked with companies in Canada, UK and the US, those companies include Trader.com, Canwest and Gateway Computer to name a few. Robert currently owns and operates Snell.ca and Brain Talent Ltd.

In 2006 David Gough joined Robert as a partner in Tech East to further grow the site, its markets and its services. David is a respected leader and a voice of the technology industry in Atlantic Canada, having successfully promoted the region and its firms for many years. David's background includes successful corporate business development careers with Xerox, Sperry Corp., NCR Canada and local software and national technology firms. David has operated Gough Technology Group since 1996 providing enhanced business development services for Canadian firms wishing to expand their businesses globally and representing firms within Atlantic Canada.
