General Dynamics Canada Teams With Millbrook First Nation PDF Print E-mail

General Dynamics Canada and the Millbrook First Nation today announced a joint teaming agreement to pursue opportunities to work together on the Maritime Helicopter Project for Canada. General Dynamics Canada Ltd. is teamed with Sikorsky Aircraft and L3-MAS Canada (formerly Bombardier Aerospace Defence Services) to provide Canada with its new Maritime Helicopter. As prime contractor, Sikorsky Aircraft will provide the H-92 SUPERHAWK, General Dynamics Canada will provide the Integrated Mission System and follow-on support and L-3 MAS Canada will handle training and manage in-service support.

The teaming agreement states that General Dynamics Canada has qualified the Millbrook First Nation as a potential supplier to construct a facility at its Caldwell Glen site overlooking Shearwater.  Under the agreement General Dynamics Canada will lease the building once the  Maritime Helicopter contract is awarded.    Millbrook First Nation will also provide facility maintenance and administrative services for the life of the contract. General Dynamics Canada will assist Millbrook by supporting Aboriginal small business initiatives, and will also provide education and employment opportunities not only for Millbrook First Nation members, but also for all Aboriginal people in a wide variety of areas.
