EastLink is presently seeking a Capacity Planner to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Manager IP Planning, the Capacity Planner is responsible for ensuring that there is sufficient capacity on EastLink’s various wireline network platforms (Internet, VoIP and MPLS) used to deliver services to our customers. Responsible for network capacity analysis, the Planner will determine the immediate and long term impacts of various initiatives such as product and service changes, sales forecasts, and network failures. The Planner will work with various teams across the organization on business and technical initiatives related to network and service capacity, will complete reporting, audits of systems and other projects as required.

The ideal candidate is an analytical, technical and business minded individual with the attention to detail and organization skills required to effectively balance multiple and changing priorities within a fluid work environment.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience;
Previous capacity planning and traffic engineering experience an asset;
Familiarity with DOCSIS, DSL, MPLS and fixed wireless technologies;
Solid understanding of IP networking;
Understanding of network management protocols;
Project management experience preferred;
Statistics experience would be beneficial but not required;
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
